COMMON QUESTIONS
Eligibility

High School Senior
-
Acceptance at an accredited institution of higher learning leading to an RN or BSN degree*

Diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes

Confirmation of Type 1 Diabetes by your health care provider

GPA of 3.0 or higher

Application, including supporting documentation and references

Students without type 1 diabetes who have demonstrated an exceptional interest in improving the lives of people with type 1 diabetes may be considered for scholarship funding if resources are available.
*We hope to be able to expand the scholarship program to other health related fields in the future.
Application Process

Complete the online application, including references and an essay of no more than 500 words

Submit the application no later than September 1, 2024

Applications will be reviewed by the selection committee

Awardees will be notified in September 2024
How much is the scholarship?

The minimum amount will be $1,000.
Is the scholarship renewable?
-
The scholarship may be renewable. Consideration will be given to applicants with a GPA of 3.0 or greater
Can I apply if I have Type 1 Diabetes and I am already enrolled in an accredited nursing program?

At this time, preference will be given to students entering the first year of a nursing program. If possible, we will expand the program in the future.
Must I be a US citizen

No. It is not necessary to be a US citizen
Is the scholarship only for students entering RN programs

While preference will be given to students entering a nursing program, students entering other health related fields may apply.
